Overview

Bandung Restaurant stands out in Abu Dhabi as a genuine sanctuary for lovers of Indonesian cuisine. Nestled in the bustling Al Zahiyah district, this eatery offers an authentic taste experience right in the heart of the city. Its well-curated menu showcases Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage, from vibrant street food staples to hearty traditional dishes.

The culinary highlights include iconic staples like Es Cendol Bandung, a refreshing dessert that perfectly balances sweetness and texture, and the beloved Nasi Goreng Special, an aromatic fried rice simmered with a blend of spices and fresh ingredients. For those craving bold and savory flavors, the Sate Ayam (chicken skewers with peanut sauce) and Sate Kambing (lamb skewers) deliver a smoky char and a rich depth of flavor that reflect Indonesian grilling mastery.

One cannot miss the diverse rice dishes Bandung Restaurant offers. Whether it’s the indulgent Nasi Goreng Gila Kambing—a fiery fried rice with lamb—or the comforting Nasi Uduk, steamed rice cooked in coconut milk and infused with subtle aromas, each plate tells a unique story of Indonesia’s culinary landscape. The menu extends to expertly prepared tofu-based dishes like Tempe Goreng and Tempe Balado, offering plant-based guests a flavorful journey through traditional Indonesian soy delicacies.

The restaurant’s atmosphere complements its cuisine well. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating, thoughtfully designed for various dining preferences. Outdoor seating is especially appreciated by smokers, who can enjoy their meal against the backdrop of Abu Dhabi’s cityscape by night. The welcoming nature of the Indonesian staff adds a layer of warmth, enhancing the overall dining experience and making it inviting for both locals and expatriates.

This space caters particularly well to those seeking authentic Indonesian flavors away from home, a niche that Bandung Restaurant fills with consistency and care. While minor service hiccups have been noted, the majority of diners commend the attentive and friendly service. The staff's willingness to accommodate and address concerns exemplifies their commitment to customer satisfaction.

In essence, Bandung Restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it is an immersive cultural experience. Whether you’re sampling the Martabak Manis Keju, a delightfully sweet pancake with cheese, or savoring the hearty Sop Iga Bakar (grilled beef rib soup), the venue offers a rich tapestry of Indonesian flavors, skilled preparation, and a welcoming ambiance.

For those in Abu Dhabi seeking a genuine taste of Indonesia, Bandung Restaurant promises an experience that engages the senses, comforts the soul, and invites repeat visits. Its combination of diverse menu options, authentic recipes, and a convenient Al Zahiyah location secures its place as a must-visit Indonesian dining destination in the UAE.

If you are Indonesian and want Indonesian authentic taste you can visit this restaurant. They serve many kind of Indonesian food. My favorite food is Nasi goreng kambing gila pedas, portion is fine and worthy for the price. They have indoor and outdoor tables so if you are smoker you can eat outside while enjoying the night view of the city

Visited Bandung Restaurant today and the food is authentic Indonesian, so comforting! I mentioned that during my previous online order I didn’t receive my Soda Gembira because the driver forgot it, and they gave me one for free this time. Really appreciate the thoughtful service Special thanks to Arul for being so friendly and attentive.

For the very first time coming for lunch around 1.45pm and it was not that busy, the indonesian staff was friendly while the other staff from philippines was not that friendly. Staff was not really attentive till then we have to ask first. I found the small flies in my ice tea and i asked to change however, there is no apology directly from staff itself. Has so many flies and the staff was trying to hit the flies indoor. Overall, food taste is good. The tadi isi is perfectly tasty, cumi balado was fine it was just too oily and expecting to have fried calamari with balado but it wasn't. Lontong was perfect, soup buntut it was a bit salty and i added extra lemon to balance it and martabak is totally really really good. I had the mixed topping of martabak (cheese, chcocolate and nuts).

Very authentic Indonesian. Food is brilliant and the best I have had outside of Indonesia. I eat here at least twice a week. Delicious food and good service! Cannot fault it. My order is nasi goreng ayam (chicken fried rice), bakwan (fried vegetables fritters) and kambing sate (lamb satay). With a side of kankung belacan (greens with garlic chilli and shrimp paste)
